Estimated computing time

An estimation of the computation time will be displayed. The estimation formula is the following one:

Ttotal=N(Tmet-FT1prob+FT2prob)

where N is the estimated number of steps, Tmet is the method time reported in the method properties panel (one step of the method applied to the test equation of dimension one), F is the number of ODE right-side evaluations, T1prob is the time of one evaluation of the right side of the test equation used for estimate Tmet and T2prob is the time of one evaluation of the right side of the current ODEs. Note that the Tmet, T1prob and T2prob are computed as medium values for a fixed large number of method steps, respectively function evaluations. Numerical tests have been shown that this estimated value is very close to the practical one. Note also that this values can be correct only in the case of a constant stepsize method which use only sequential computations. Another remark is that the above estimated time is computed in the condition that no intermediate values will be displayed on the screen. Therefore, an extra time will be added when the computation is processed. This extra time can be significant if Ttotal is under one hundred seconds (in the case of small system of equations or explicit methods).
